"Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him...There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear..the one who fears is not made perfect in love." 1 John 4:16, 18

I have 420 xanga credits!

Now...what do I do with them??

Been a full two months since I posted here. Does xanga seem to be on its last leg or is it just me that's drifting away. Besides Jeff and a couple bloggers I subscribe to, no one really posts regularly anymore. Do you remember the post Clayton put up about dating or whatever it was and there were easliy 100+ comments? Those were the days...now if I get 2 eprops I feel lucky.

Xanga, I salute you.

So! I made a collage on my OtHeR blog that I want yal to check out. Hey! It's not my fault, I couldn't make one on here if I wanted to. So here's the link:

Check it Check it got this from my sister...

KURT THE STOCK BOY AND BRENDA THE CHECKOUT GIRL

In a supermarket, Kurt the stock boy, was busily working when a new voice came over the loud speaker asking for
a carry out at register 4.  Kurt was almost finished, and wanted to get some fresh air, and decided to answer
the call.  As he approached the check-out stand a distant smile caught his eye, the new check-out girl was
beautiful .  She was an older woman (maybe 26, and he was only 22) and he fell in love.

Later that day, after his shift was over, he waited by the punch clock to find out her name.  She came into the
break room, smiled softly at him, took her card and punched out, then left.  He looked at her card, BRENDA.
He walked out only to see her start walking up the road.
Next day, he waited outside as she left the supermarket, and offered her a ride home.  He looked harmless
enough, and she accepted.  When he dropped her off, he asked if maybe he could see her again, outside of work.
She simply said it wasn't possible.

He pressed and she explained she had two children and she couldn't afford a baby-sitter, so he offered to pay
for the baby-sitter.
Reluctantly she accepted his offer for a date for the following Saturday.  That Saturday night he arrived at her
door only to have her tell him that she was unable to go with him.
The baby-sitter had called and canceled.  To which Kurt simply said, "Well, let's take the kids with us."

She tried to explain that taking the children was not an option, but again not taking no for an answer, he
pressed.  Finally Brenda, brought him inside to meet her children.  She had an older daughter who was just as
cute as a bug, Kurt thought, then Brenda brought out her son, in a wheelchair.
He was born a paraplegic with Down Syndrome.

Kurt asked Brenda, "I still don't understand why the kids can't come with us?" Brenda was amazed.  Most men
would run away from a woman with two kids, especially if one had disabilities - just like her first husband and
father of her children had done.  Kurt was not ordinary - - - he had a different mindset.

That evening Kurt and Brenda loaded up the kids, went to dinner and the movies.  When her son needed anything
Kurt would take care of him.  When he needed to use the restroom, he picked him up out of his wheelchair, took
him and brought him back.  The kids loved Kurt.  At the end of the evening, Brenda knew this was the man she was
going to marry and spend the rest of her life with.

A year later, they were married and Kurt adopted both of her children.
Since then they have added two more kids.

So what happened to Kurt the stock boy and Brenda the check-out girl?

Well, Mr. & Mrs. Kurt Warner now live in Arizona, where he is currently employed as the quarterback of the
National Football League Arizona Cardinals and is going to the 2009 Super Bowl.  Is this a surprise ending or
could you have guessed that he was not an ordinary person?

It should be noted that he also quarterbacked the Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.

"NFL experts have been trying to figure out the secret to my success in the NFL. For me, it's easy and really
has little to do with football. First things first-faith & family- that is the formula for success. Brenda and
I are living proof of the importance of having strong faith in God, in yourself and in your talents." Kurt
  Warner

How do you type the expression

For when a person releases a quick breath of air signifying they are a bit exasperated or surprised?  In Japanese I think its "ふっ".  I could be wrong though.  Either way that's how I felt when I realized it's been a while since I posted anything.  Not too long, but enough has happened in the between time.  Lets work backwards.

First off, Onew and a first cousin of mine, Karen Fountain now, got married this past weekend in central Florida.  The Villages and Tampa, respectively.  The wedding in Tampa was really nice, plus it was great to see cousins and family I haven't seen in a while.  It was at my Granddad's church.  At his ripe old age he can still crack jokes like nobody's business.

Although I didn't get to see Onew's ceremony, I'm sure it was beautiful.  I don't know Howard very well, but it really looks like things will work out well for them.  In the latter part of the reception the Bride and Groom and a few others donned traditional Korean wear and had the traditional Korean ceremony in front of everyone.  At the end, the groom carried the bride all the way around the room, too much significance!!  I wish I had recorded that part, but I think it's a great thing to do and very symbolic.  Here are a few shots  for those who haven't seen any.

In other affairs I'm still on the job hunt.  I took the JLPT last December, and I should have the results back by March at the latest.  I don't tHiNk I passed, and it's not me being pessemistic or anything, but on a language test, you kinda know when you got a multiple choice answer wrong or right lol.  That being said, I've got near two decades of experience dealing with guessing right when I don't know the answer, so who knows.  But would you really want to pass the lifeguard test if you have trouble swimming?

I'm grateful though, for the time I've gotten to spend with my family and what I've learned about this whole business thing.  It could really be boiled down to getting your foot in the door, and who you know.  The economy s*c*s now but it's more than that.  I've had numerous things fall through that just shouldn't have.  As time presses on, and it will keep pressing on, I have felt more and more that this is a season in my life to work out the internal stuff.  It took me a while to even acknowledge that.  Stories like Elijah, Ahab, and the drought help keep hope alive though.  Don't let your faith falter, and be prepared for what's coming; not much more you can do than that.  I've got an interview tomorrow though, looking forward to it!

I've seen a few movies as of late, and I want to recommend a couple.  The first is 'A State of Mind'.  The cover says mind-blowing, and it really is.  Over a period of about 8 months three British journalists live/film two schoolgirls, aged 13 and 11, and their families.  They are both star gymnasts who have been selected to perform in North Korea's 'Mass Games', which recognize and reinforce the country's values.  Trust me, you cannnot watch the performances everything else without being moved one way or the other.  I was shocked, astounded, endeared, and captivated; often at the same time!  I love it because I think it captures an essence of people's everyday life, which, cmon, where else are you gonna get that for North Korea??, and what many may believe.

The second is 'Bella'.  Not dissimilar to how 'Juno' takes a subject like abortion and makes light of it(not in a negative way), Bella uses an atypical way to get its point across.  I wouldn't want to ruin it for you so all I'll say is that it involves Latino culture, family, food(nice!), all stir-fried in with that New York flava.  A good movie to watch with aNyBoDy, and whatever your views on abortion are, I think you'll walk away with a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Thats all for now folks.  Talk to ya later.

Holy Guacamole

Ok, I know I've been recommending things like a beast lately, but I thought this next one was a hoax until I watched the trailer myself.  They finally saw fit to correct a wrong they had done.
